Her father is diagnosed with cancer. And she is only 10 years old.

The doctor says her father only has about 6 months to live.

She’s worried what is going to happen when her father passes away.

In fact, what makes her worry is not her but her mother.

She is concerned about her mother who might be taking up extra responsibilities as single parent. Will she cope?

With all the worries that she has, she doesn’t know how to express to her mother.

Let’s talk about something other than parenting.

There are many types of exercise. Namely cardiovascular, strength, and flexibility.

The least I used to like is flexibility.

Why?

Because being a macho man that I am, flexibility equals limberness and sissyness. At the end of the day, I don’t want to look everything but wimpy.

Being muscular and having excellent stamina were always my exercise goals.

12-year old has IQ higher than Einstein

Olivia Manning from Liverpool has scored 162 in an IQ test – which the average is 100. The 12-year old school girl has been accepted into Mensa. It is reported that her score is 2 points better than Albert Einstein and Stephen Hawking. Woohoo! She is brainier than Einstein.

What a genius!

Here’s the thing: Every parent dreams of having a genius like Olivia born into the family.

Not for me. I’d rather let things go the way it’s supposed to be.

The most effective way to teach values to children

If you want to teach children something, use stories.

Why do you think you have bedtime stories and unlimited stories aimed at children? And most stories end with: “The moral of the story is…”

Story telling is fun and most importantly it’s the most effective way of teaching. Children attracted to stories like bees to honey.

Instead of using cold hard facts (Yawn, yawn. Most kids have a hard time digesting facts), try using a story to tell your child about a lesson or value in life.

Also story telling can be used to explain abstract concepts to children.
