While my coming to 6 years old son K is not considered a TV fanatic, he does sit in front of the idiot box sometimes.

Two of his favorite programs are SpongeBob SquarePants (the yellow thing, you know?) and local production Upin & Ipin.

Sometimes I watch with him.

As I watch, I find SpongeBob is funny and the storyline is intriguing.

No wonder it’s so darn popular.

First Day at School

New school year started last week here.

Kuala Sepetang

We didn’t really plan for this trip except getting a rough idea how to get to Kuala Sepetang from Penang by checking out Google Maps.

Last Tuesday, on the way home from our hometown after visiting my mom and dad, and my wife’s granny during Christmas holidays, we detoured to Kuala Sepetang for a quick visit after getting an inspiration from a friend who went there just a few days before.

Kuala Sepetang is the hometown to one of my best friends but I hadn’t got the chance to pay this small town a visit that was once called Port Weld – which is famous for the first railway station in Peninsular Malaysia. However the station is no longer in existence. [Read more…]

Wow! What a night!

I got quite emotional when I watched talent show USA’s The X Factor: Finale the other night. Not because I was supporting anyone but seeing love and support throwing behind each top 3 contestants touched my heart.

I hardly watch reality shows but for The X Factor, it just happened that I watched the first episode, the finale, and a few episodes in between.

As I watched, it occurred to me that there were a few parenting tips that we could learn from The X Factor for raising happy and successful children. [Read more…]
