Broga Hill Hiking: An Outdoor Activity with Family and Friends

During the recent Aidilfitri holidays, we made a plan to hike Broga Hill after a few unsuccessful attempts to make this outdoor adventure a reality.

We went with two other families – who have school-going children – and friends. One of them who has been there be the guide.

The Parent I Aspire to Be

I just read an article written by one of my favorite authors. I always like the simplicity in his articles.

This one is no exception. Not only is the article short and simple but it really speaks to my heart. While reading, sentence by sentence, it hit me like a fast moving train.

Why?

What he said in the article resonates with me so well that I wanted to share with you. As with Leo Babauta, this is what I aspire to be as a parent too.

We are invited to her birthday party this Sunday. Domenique is celebrating her 11th birthday and we have been her guests for more than 5 years, I guess.

It seems her parents throw a party for her every year without fail.

And get this: While this sounds like a party for children, it is also one hell of an event for adults to have fun. Talking about killing two birds with one stone.

From the get go, I can tell that her parents treasure and enjoy the togetherness with family and friends, besides food, of course.

Use This Simple Method for Re-igniting the Flame of Reading

If possible, I want to inculcate the habit of reading in my children.

We did it when they were young. J and K both love books.

However, with the daily grind of school works and activities, somehow the passion subsides and reading is not part of what they do anymore.

In comparison, K fares better than J as I mentioned in this article:
