When I wrote about my family doing the No New Gifts Holiday Challenge, I received a couple comments that I was a Grinch:

You must be a drag to live with. ‘What kind of deprivation and sacrifice has Daddy got for us today?’

and

I couldn’t agree more lol, I’m sure kids see him as the Grinch, i feel sorry for them. I doubt his kids would be like ‘Yes dad, don’t buy me the latest Call of Duty game, i don’t want the 1% to get richer.’

Have you lost control of your child?

One child throws tantrums a few times a day… every day.

Another steals things from school and tries to hide the incident from parents.

I don’t make this up. These are real stories… from parents.

It’s saddening to hear stories first hand from moms and dads that they lose control over how to teach children about behavior.

The parents are at the mercy of the child.

They are being manipulated and they are lost for ideas on how to teach the child the meaning of discipline.

The Song That Summarizes What I Want My Children to Learn

This is a very touching song. My heart is filled with love and warmth every time I listen to it.

The song was introduced to me by a friend.

When I first heard this song I was mesmerized by the remarkable tune of the song. And when I tried to appreciate the words of the song, it conveyed some very powerful messages a child needed to learn.

It’s not easy to find a song that has excellent music as well as the lyrics. This particular song fits the criteria perfectly.

Recently J’s piano teacher taught her the song and asked the class to sing along.  And I find this song is too great to miss… and I will regret if I do not share it with you. [Read more…]
