During the last school holidays, four families embarked on a road trip to various towns of Perak.
After some research and planning, we started our 3D2N trip up north before dawn. We put up our nights at Kinta Riverfront Hotel and Suites. Since the hotel is still brand new (7 months old), we have nothing to complain except some minor things such as slow service. Overall, the hotel is fine.
The trip took place from August 19 to August 21.

K attended his friend’s birthday party yesterday afternoon.
The children were very excited and many of them jumping up and down for joy.
As usual, besides the music and food and cake, there were games.
The group was divided into two teams and they competed against each other.
After each game, every member of the winning team would receive a present.

In the past, he got no luck with gardening. Be it flower or vegetable or tree.
Whatever he planted, died.
That’s what his wife claimed. No hope of growing anything (with the exception of weeds, of course). Let alone enjoying the fruits of his labor.
He accepted the fate that he did not have a green thumb. Finally, he gave up hope and hung up the hoe and boots.
Not until recently, he took the courage to prove that he is not a hopeless gardener – after a few years of hiatus.
He wants to make sure that this time it works. So he read a few books on gardening, especially organic gardening, to make sure that it’s a success. No failure allowed.
That ego-satisfying reason is not the ultimate reason. In fact, there’s another more important reason for this revival: he wants to teach a lesson (or two) to his two young children. [Read more…]

We took a quick trip to Lembah Bujang in Merbok during the recent school holiday.
Lembah Bujang (The Bujang Valley) is not as popular as other destinations in Malaysia but it sure gives visitors an awesome lesson in history.
A great place for history lovers as well as to teach children history.
I can remember vaguely that I studied about Lembah Bujang in school.
Lembah Bujang was a central port which served as a trade center for traders dominating the trading routes between the eastern and western countries especially the Chinese, Indian and Arab traders. [Read more…]
