Children of smokers who don't show any signs of respiratory problems may still be experiencing damaging changes in their airways that could lead to lung disease later in life, according to a new study.

Interesting finding: Smoking after birth appeared to be more harmful than smoking during pregnancy alone.

Study: More Kids Getting Cavities In Baby Teeth

I've had them.. you've had them. But there's a surprise in a new study dealing with cavities. It seems more kids are getting cavities.. not in their permanent teeth, but their baby teeth.

A new study finds 28-percent of children age 2 to 5 had cavities compared to 24-percent of children surveyed in the late 80s and early 90s.

Shire gets approvable letter for adult ADHD drug

Illinois 8-Year-Old Finds Bag of Marijuana in McDonald's Happy Meal

An Illinois 8-year-old got more than a hamburger and french fries when she opened her Happy Meal this week.

A 17-year-old employee of an Ottawa, Ill., McDonald's is out of work and facing drug charges after allegedly hiding marijuana and a lighter in the Happy Meal.

Keith Irelan and his three children went through a McDonald's drive-thru Monday night to order Happy Meals. They were on their way to meet their mother at a nearby school for a picnic, police said.

Mom drives son to rob jewelry story

A 36-year-old German mother-of-five drove her son to a jewelry store he wanted to rob because she was afraid he may come to some harm, Bild newspaper reported Wednesday.

While her 17-year-old son and his two accomplices stabbed and robbed a jeweler in the eastern city of Dresden, the mother waited outside in the car.

There's more worrisome news about vitamins: Taking too many may increase men's risk of dying from prostate cancer.

The study, being published Wednesday, doesn't settle the issue. But it is the biggest yet to suggest high-dose multivitamins may harm the prostate, and the latest chapter in the confusing quest to tell whether taking various vitamins really helps a variety of conditions -- or is a waste of money, or worse.

The "super nanny" who speaks a second language, teaches the guitar and knocks up Jamie Oliver-style meals for the children is becoming a must-have accessory among wealthier parents.

According to a report, the professional nanny is no longer simply the "helper" who takes the children to school and after-school clubs and tucks them up in bed. Instead she must fill the role of third parent, personal nurse, chef and teacher.

FDA: Flu Vaccine Works in Children Under 5

Federal regulators say MedImmune's nasal spray flu vaccine is effective for children under age 5 even though it may increase the risk of respiratory problems.

The vaccine, Flumist, was once thought to be a possible blockbuster drug, but has had modest sales because approved use is limited to healthy people between the age of 5 and 49 years old.

The Dream-Racer device consists of hat equipped with four sensors and a wearable box containing a radio transmitter and a battery.

Fathers responsible for fat children, not mothers: Australia study

Fathers who play less of a role in child rearing are more likely to have overweight or obese offspring, Australian researchers said.

A study of almost 5,000 youngsters revealed that fathers who do not set clear limits for their kids are more likely to have heavier children, according to the Australian Associated Press.
