Finding the right name for your baby
There are lots of opinions on how to pick the
perfect name for your baby. There are of course
some factors that will influence how to choose
your baby's name. Is it a name your partner and
you agree on? How much do you care about what
other's think of your baby's name? Are you trying
to incorporate a family name or do you have a
certain sound or style you are looking for? Some
people find it helpful to figure out what their
baby naming style is first. Classic and traditional
names are very popular right now. Baby names such
as Sophia, Matilda, and Margaret that perhaps
when you were growing up would have been thought
of as "granny names" are making a come
back. Another popular style right now is made
up baby names. Of course there is the occasional
controversy when you choose a made up name, but
there are plenty that are also popular. Another
factor that people look at when naming their baby
is the trendiness factor. Does it seem like the
first time you hear a name it is so unique and
original and you turn around and the next thing
you know every other baby you meet has that name.
The trendiness factor can sometimes be hard to
fight. If you are attempting to find something
unique and original it may not be so unique by
the time your child enters school. The best advice
we can give is pick a name that both your partner
and you agree on and one that fits your naming
style.
