I have a very strong feeling about this topic. Why parents must place school grades above everything else? Why can\'t they see that good grades do not equal good future. No doubt, it\'s a foundation but that\'s about all.

I want parents who emphasize on good grades stop and look at yourself:

\"How did your performance at school affect your future and career? Are you very satisfied with what you are doing now?\"

If your answer is \"no\" despite your flying colors at school, why do you emphasize so much on your child\'s grades?

Don\'t be misled. Education is one of the ways to good future but it\'s not the ONLY way! Look at college dropouts like Bill Gates and Michael Dell. The key is doing what you are good at. - wonderdad

I read aloud this article to a group of 10 year-olds from a Chinese primary school. One girl from a \'top\' class commented,\"My mother always scold me when I bring the report card home. She does this regardless of what I get.\" She also added that she never talk to her parents about anything but school and grades. - Ruth Liew
